I love to see the Google Chrome. But even firefox was popular, promoted by Google and more effecient. It was an open source too. But it did not overtake Internet Explorer. Lets see

Hi,
About the anti-microsoft attitude, I would say that Microsoft has focussed on making things easier, simpler, things for the masses, because simplicity holds the key. I dont advocated for them, but you need to understand that they are not numero Uno for nothing.

On the other hand linux is for nerds and geeks who live and die by the complicated IT terminologies. I do not opposed that, but see the real scenario. How many people on this earth are aware or want to get in touch with linux. Simplicity is and will always remain the key for mass acceptance and linux makers should concentrate on that.
Regards,
Jigar

Hey Man,
I would like to point out one thing here. Its not that this field has lost all its charm to the outsourcing business. I would say we have grown more substantially due to this kind of business. Its like exploiting the best and pushing the limits further towards reaching the pinnacle. Yes, I do agree that people from other fields have been absorbed in the IT field, but I beleive that if you have it in you, you can go places and IT is no exception.
Regards,
Jigar Balani

Java is open source ( at least for me ) with it's JCP
program. But it's license is not OSDL approved.
Anyway it's gonna be open source soon . Check out
JAVAONE.

I've been using IDE's for 1 year, on Linux , Windows
for developing RCP , Mobile apps .

and 4)?
it would be interesting too how much time you spent and how far you went to test each IDE.
I'm a netbeans fan but I want really to know about Eclipse, which doesn't convince me still now because I'm lost in this IDE.
